August Currently

So AUGUST is here and it is so bitter sweet....

The Bitter: Summer is almost over.

The Sweet: My birthday, great Back to School sales and THE BEYONCE CONCERT!

So... let me start with this month's Currently! This is a super creative and hugely popular Linky hosted each month by Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade.   (So popular that last night when I checked it was up to 173 links.... now it is up to 323) I love these  so I know my sudents will! I am definitely purchasing this set she has in her TPT  store for my students this year!

So here it is:
Listening: i am listening to one of my favorite TV shows, Girlfriends, it is more like the background fuzz while I work.

Loving: I am LOVING that I finally put together my boutique rack this morning. My other one collapsed a week ago so I had to replace it (with a much sturdier one). I finally got around to putting it together and I am very pleased with my snap and click handy work : ) You know you can never go into Target and get what you need, right? Well of course you can't, LOL! When I was there checking out the dollar items I lucked up and found some pocket charts! So I bought 10! This will be perfect to use with my word study activity center this year : )

Thinking: I need to get out of the house and get to the nail salon so I can have a funky manicure for the BEYONCE concert! is important that I finish this post because last month I had my Currently all ready to go, saidI would post it later and it is August! #priorities, lol!

Wanting: To get into my new classroom! I am switching schools this year and I am dying to see what my new space is going to look like... I need a new rug, some curtains, a few colorful flower pots (that reminds me, I need to get to Michael's today) and shelving. I need to see how this can all fit into my new classroom home : )

Needing: To finish my blog post on differentiating instruction! I am a week behind my personal blogging schedule and this weekend is super packed but I will get it done very soon.

B2S Must Haves: I must must must have Sharpie/Paper Mate Flair pens to start the year. Grading papers, taking notes, and creating file folders is not the same without my flairs!! I also must have THE PERFECT NOTEBOOK! My perfect notebook is like my brain throughout the school year. It is where I plan, brainstorm, jot down notes, etc. It has to be perfect, meaning-- cute! And yes, I write with my flairs in my perfect notebook! I also need a good teacher bag for the year. This usually comes to me by accident, like a giveaway at a conference, a sale that I happened to catch, or a gift from a colleague or something. This bag is the bag that I carry back and forth everyday to work, it sometimes sits by the door in the same place I sat it after work, it gets battered and abused but it is my work bag- my third arm- my old trusty, from September to June.  Any suggestions on where I can snag a good one?

There are several more items that I must have when the school year starts and I plan to put this in a blog post in the next few weeks (so much to blog about, so little time).

One last thing I want to share are my new Dry Erase Pockets that came today! I LOVE THEM! This will also be an important tool used during my word study time! Do you use these? If so, how?

I've been working on "work-like" items and posts these last few weeks so it was refreshing to post something fun! Are you linking up? If so, you better hurry. Slots fill QUICK!
