Back to School Night: Thanks for Poppin' In!

This year's Back to School Night was based on a popcorn/ movie theme: "Thanks for Poppin' In". I created our school's flyer to promote Back to School Night, our program and our teacher information cards using movie themed clip art. Here is a packet that I shared with teachers to get ready for their parent presentations. Take a look and feel free to download this editable document!

Backpack Games: A Back to School MUST HAVE!

Earlier this summer I wrote a short article that discussed the dangers of "summer slide.  As we prepare for back to school, dealing with the "summer slide" during the first few weeks of school will be inevitable. With this in mind, I've created a series of flashcard games that teachers and parents can use at the start of the school year. They are great for reinforcing, practicing and reviewing important skills and concepts. I love my new series of backpack games because they are flexible enough to be used in a variety of ways (and the back to school/ school supplies theme is adorable!). They are great for the beginning of the year but of course can be played all year long :) During the BACK TO SCHOOL SALE, I have this bundled set on sale for only $11.16 (Regular price is $15.00) This set includes 6 great games that are priced individully between $2.15 and $4.99. Read about them here. If you like them, hop on over to my store and add them to your shopping cart!

How I use this label:
I use this label on the first day of school. I use it by gathering all of the contents found on the label and placing them in a plastic ziplock bag. I then take a "Welcome Back to School" bookmark, Welcome to 4th grade pencil, eraser, and a sticker and place them inside of a white paper lunch bag. I staple the lable to the bag and hold it until the last day of school. I have the students review the contents in the bag with their parents along with reviewing our classroom rules and routines, school supplies and homework policy. What are some of the fun things you do for your kids during the first few weeks back? Feel free to share and post links below!
